PET flakes, also known as Polyester flakes or Polyethylene Terephthalate flakes, are the base material for various types of plastics and polymers. Depending on the processing, PET can exist both as an amorphous (transparent) form, commonly known as Bright or Super Bright flakes, and as a semi-crystalline material, commonly known as PET Semi-Dull flakes. PET flakes are also used to manufacture PET film. High-quality flakes, with minimal silica and SiO2 content, are used to produce PET film.

The film-grade polyester flakes are commonly available in Super Bright and Additive (Silica) varieties. A key feature of film-grade PET flakes is their excellent clarity, as the film is made in very thin specifications, where even the slightest impurity in the raw material can negatively impact film quality.
